Colbert Keeps Knox Graduates Laughing
Stephen Colbert (left) and Tri States Public Radio reporter T.J. Carson.
(wium) - Many colleges bring in a successful alumnus, politician, or business leader to deliver the commencement speech. But Knox College this year chose one of the biggest stars in comedy. Stephen Colbert of "The Colbert Report" kept the crowd laughing with observations on immigration, religion, and the school's nickname (the Prairie Fire). You can listen to Colbert's entire speech by clicking on the audio button above. NOTE: The speech contains a little bit of explicit language. Colbert received an honorary degree from Knox College. The school also gave honorary degrees to Ambassador Shirley Barnes and Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales. © Copyright 2021, wium
