The first of the SOCHE Talks, Emily McCord and NPR's Guy Raz on Three Minute Fiction and more. This week's edition begins with the first of the SOCHE Talks, a collaboration with the Southwest Ohio Council for Higher Education. This monthly series features faculty and staff from area colleges and universities speaking on a variety of topics. It's an effort to bring Miami Valley research and thinking into the public arena. This week features Dr. Jame Malarky, chair of Humanities and General Education at Antioch University Midwest. Also available here

In Miami Valley StoryCorps: Wayne Baker and David Fogarty have been friends since 1970, when Baker's family moved to Yellow Springs - right next door to the Fogartys. Baker's strongest memories of his childhood in the village are of Burkes Barbershop. And of wisdom passed down from the proprietor, known as "Brother Burkes." Also available here.
