Congressional Candidate Kryzan Picks Up Endorsement of Former Rival
(2008-10-27)
(WXXI) - Congressional candidate Alice Kryzan has picked up the endorsement of her Democratic primary opponent, Jon Powers.

Kryzan won a three-way primary race in the 26th Congressional district last month, but Powers remains on the ballot as the Working Families candidate.

During a stop at Monroe County Democratic headquarters Monday, Powers said he and Kryzan entered the race for many of the same reasons. He said they both want health care that's affordable and accessible, and they both want to bring the troops home.

Kryzan faces Republican Chris Lee in next week's election. The 26th Congressional district extends from the suburbs of Buffalo to the towns west of Rochester and south to Livingston County. Incumbent Tom Reynolds is not seeking reelection this year.

Powers' endorsement comes nearly seven weeks after he lost to Kryzan in the Democratic primary.
