RG&S Works to Restore Power ROCHESTER, NY (WXXI) - Rochester Gas and Electric reports that 32,000 customers in Western New York are still without power as a result of last night's wind storm.

That's down from 42,000 customers early this morning.

Spokesman Rich Meier says there's no estimate of when most of the customers will be back online, but he does not expect electrical service to be fully restored until midday Wednesday.

Utility crews are on the scene assessing the damage. Meir says the fallen trees and branches are making the work "labor-intensive." © Copyright 2009, WXXI
