County Goes for Final Public Funding for Ren Square
(2008-09-10)
(WXXI) - Officials behind the Renaissance Square Project in downtown Rochester heard from their Albany lobbyist Wednesday. The effort still needs $18 million in public funds. And County Executive Maggie Brooks says she was happy to hear from the lobbyist that state money is available for local projects.

The total cost of the Renaissance Square Project is $230 million. Brooks will try to get the final $18 million in public money included in Governor Paterson's proposed state budget in the beginning of the new year. Another $10 million to $20 million in private funds needs to be raised.

A decision on moving forward with the project will be made next April.
