City Begins NET Consolidation
(2008-06-17)
(WXXI) - City Council is expected to approve the new Rochester City Budget tonight, and that will bring some big changes to the city's Neighborhood Empowerment Team program.

The city is closing two of its NET offices this week in preparation for those changes.
NET Director Molly Clifford says the Lyell Avenue office closes Tuesday for one day as the staff moves to temporary quarters at 1099 Jay Street. The Webster Avenue office will close for good on Friday and its staff will move into the South Clinton Avenue NET office.

Clifford says this is part of the reorganization of city services. NET will consolidate into one agency with Rochester's Community Development and Economic Development departments. Those departments will be based out of four Neighborhood Service Centers, one for each quadrant of the city.

Starting July first, the Clinton NET office becomes the Southeast Neighborhood Service Center. Jay Street will serve the Northwest while a permanent location is found. The Norton Street NET Office will become the Northeast Service Center, and Genesee Street NET will become the Southwest NSC.
