Paterson Says Revenue Report Will Be Grim
"We're going to have out-year deficits that are starting to reach numbers that we have never discussed in this state," Paterson warned.
The Governor says this year's budget, which increased spending by almost 5%, is balanced, because it relies on tax revenues from 2007, when the economy was stronger. But he says next year, it will be a different story, and he's continuing to urge the legislature to start planning for lean times now.
