Record Archive Celebrates 33 1/3 years of Business in the City of Rochester
"Because it's one of the few personality places left in America--no less Rochester," Wease says. "I mean we are chain-restaurant and chain-stored to death. And this is an original, it's independently owned, and to me, that's what cities should be made up of."
Wease says younger generations -- who load up their iPods online -- are missing out on the Record Archive experience.
The Record Archive is a member of the Coalition of Independent Music Stores, and is one of the largest vintage record stores in the Northeast.
The music warehouse recently relocated to 33 1/3 Rockwood Street, with help from a Building Renovation Program grant from the City of Rochester.
A spokesperson says the expansion helps accommodate the store's growing Internet business.
And while the store offers C-D's and DVD's, you can still buy a record at Record Archive, as well.
