Burns is BusinessWeek Cover Story
(2009-06-01)
(WXXI) - The latest issue of BusinessWeek magazine features Ursula Burns, who will take over as Chief Executive Officer of Xerox beginning July 1.

The cover story outlines the challenges Burns will inherit from departing CEO Anne Mulcahy. The report says Xerox "faces a brutal business outlook."

But the article also notes the excitement over Burns' appointment, pointing to the lack of top corporate officers who are female - let alone minority. Burns is the first African American woman to lead a large public company. The BusinessWeek story credits Xerox for being a leader in creating diversity in the workplace, an effort that began there decades ago.
