Busy Weekend for Injured Police Officer ROCHESTER, NY (WXXI) - Rochester Police Officer Anthony DiPonzio continues to recover from a near fatal gunshot wound to the head suffered January 31.

DiPonzio was busy this weekend thanking the community for supporting his recovery.

On Friday, he dropped the ceremonial first puck at the Rochester Amerks game at the Blue Cross Arena. Saturday, he was greeted by 76 trombones and almost 10-thousand fans as he threw out the first pitch at the Red Wings home opener. © Copyright 2009, WXXI
