Eastman Theatre Undergoes Major Renovation ROCHESTER, NY (WXXI) - On July 1st, construction workers sealed off the Eastman Theatre. They lowered the thick fire curtain that separates the audience from the stage and began the process of renovating the area behind the curtain. It's the first major renovation since the Rochester landmark opened in 1922, and the goal is to make the theatre a better place for audience members and musicians.
