Funding For A New Frederick Douglass Center
(2003-02-17)
(WXXI) - Work is underway to establish the Frederick Douglass Resource Center on Rochester's westside.
The center will be located on King Street, one block from the Susan B. Anthony House.
Reverend Errol Hunt, the president of the center, says the neighborhood has historical significance.
Hunt says the project will cost about one-million-dollars. Assemblyman David Gantt has secured a 681-thousand-dollar state grant for the effort.
Hunt hopes the Douglass Center will be open to the public this summer.
