Businessman, Community Leader Richard Guon Dies ROCHESTER, NY (WXXI) - Richard Guon, the current Chair of the Monroe Community College Board of Trustees died Saturday night in service to his community, something he loved doing.

Guon was active in several different community concerns, most recently leading a search for a new president at MCC. He found himself at the center of concern in the summer of 2008 when the Board of Trustees decided to start over in its search for a new college president.

Guon, who owns several local McDonald's restaurants, was also a founding board member of the Rochester Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Children's Charities. Guon was attending the annual Ronald McDonald House fundraising gala at the Rochester Plaza Hotel Saturday night when he unexpectedly took ill.

Guon was a member of the Rochester Rotary Club and also served as a board member for the Monroe County Water Authority.
