CEO Out at High Falls Brewery
The brewery was recently acquired by KPS Capital Partners, a private equity firm, and is being merged with the newly purchased Labatt USA, whose products will soon be produced at High Falls for the U.S. market.
KPS purchased the Labatt unit from Anheuser-Busch/InBev for an undisclosed price. The world's largest brewer had to sell the unit to win antitrust approval for InBev's $52-billion takeover of Anheuser-Busch. The move requires approval from the U.S. Department of Justice.
In mid-February, High Falls announced a deal with the city and county to pay off its back taxes, to clear the way for acquisition by KPS.
At that time, Rochester Mayor Robert Duffy said clearing the brewery's debt would allow it to remain open and keep 300 jobs in the city.
Snyder joined High Falls in May of 2007. Before coming to Rochester he was the chief operating officer of Rheingold Brewing Company, and had worked for NFL Properties. © Copyright 2009, WXXI
