Gov Announces New MCC Trustee ROCHESTER, NY (WXXI) - The governor has announced that he's appointed Howard Konar to the Monroe Community College Board of Trustees. Konar currently serves on the college foundation's executive committee.

Governor David Paterson said in a press release Wednesday that Konar "understands" that the college is important to the community. Paterson says MCC is at a "critical time" as it searches for a new president.

Konar's appointment is effective as of July 1, and he'll serve until 2015.

He's also served on the governing board of the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC and the boards of Highland Hospital and the Monroe County Workforce Investment Board. © Copyright 2009, WXXI
