MCC Recognized for Excellence
(2007-04-23)
(WXXI) - Monroe Community College has been recognized by the New York Times as a "model" for community colleges across the country.

An article that ran in the Sunday issue of the paper cited M-C-C for offering students dorms, and for its agreements that allow students to transfer to a number of area colleges.

M-C-C president R. Thomas Flynn says that being cited in the New York Times should be a booster for students. Flynn says that even prior to the article in the New York Times, M-C-C was recognized for its excellence by being a part of the "league for innovation," a select group of community colleges that document best practices and serve as industry leaders.

Last year M-C-C was chosen as the number one community college for athletics, a title based on the number of sports played at the school and the number of titles its earned.
