Violinist Leila Josefowicz is a real fan favorite in Rochester--she's been here several times as a guest soloist with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, playing a wide range of concertos. She came back in town to perform the great Beethoven Violin Concerto with the RPO and once again came into the WXXI studios to chat with Julia Figueras. And chat they did: about working with Esa-Pekka Salonen and Steven Mackey on new concertos; about the whys and hows of writing cadenzas; and how she reacted to the MacArthur Foundation "Genius" Grant she just got.
