The Little Match Girl Passion WXXI
Meet David Lang David Lang's Pulitzer Prize-winning one-act work The Little Match Girl Passion is on at the Glimmerglass Festival this summer. It features a children's chorus and four adult singers telling a fable by Hans Christian Andersen about an abused girl who's sent into the cold to sell matches. She freezes to death while lighting one match at a time. WXXI's Brenda Tremblay spoke to two adult singers in the production, soprano Lisa Williamson and mezzo-soprano Julia Mintzer.
