The Canadian Brass was been in town all week, rehearsing with the Eastman Wind Ensemble for an exciting concert and recording collaboration. They join Julia Figueras in our studios for Backstage Pass and, along with the Eastman School of Music's Emerald Brass Quintet, talk about Frederick Fennell's lasting legacy, the art of brass transcription, and the importance of silence.


Backstage Pass, a live radio program broadcast from WXXI's Studio E, is dedicated to spotlighting the arts in Rochester and is made possible in part by a grant from the Gouvernet Arts Fund at Rochester Area Community Foundation.
