Backstage Pass presents Mercury Opera
Backstage Pass, airing Friday, May 25th at 1 p.m. on Classical 91.5/90.3, join host Julia Figueras as she welcomes Mercury Opera

Hosted by WXXI-FM's Julia Figueras

It's considered the first American musical play...and it's been a source of controversy since its first performance in 1927. On the May edition of Backstage Pass, members of the cast of Mercury Opera's upcoming production of Showboat join host Julia Figueras to discuss the show and sing some of the great Kern and Hammerstein songs, including the most famous of all, "Ol' Man River." It's a trip down the river with Mercury Opera on Backstage Pass, Friday, May 25th at 1 p.m. on WXXI-FM.

Backstage Pass, a live radio program broadcast from WXXI's Studio E, is dedicated to spotlighting the arts in Rochester and is made possible in part by a grant from the Gouvernet Arts Fund at Rochester Area Community Foundation.
