PRI's The World - Geo Quiz Podcast 401
Whose National Anthem?

One of the oldest national anthems in the world is the Dutch anthem. It goes back to the 16th century. In South Africa, each stanza of the anthem features a different national language. There are just a handful of national anthems that have no official lyrics. Our mystery nation's "Royal March" is one of them. One of the reasons for its wordlessness is that there are 17 autonomous communities within this country's borders - and it's easier to get people to agree on the tune than the words. Name the country -- and we'll tell you more about its anthem.

The World's Geo Quiz tests your knowledge of world geography, and introduces you to fascinating people and places around the globe. The World is a US-based international news and analysis program co-produced by the BBC World Service, Public Radio International, and WGBH Boston.
