Mayor Landrieu Announces New Plan To Fight Illegal Guns
"I'm calling today on the municipal and criminal court judges to follow the lead of this practice in St. Louis and increase bond amounts to a minimum of $30,000."
Landrieu says judges are also being asked to order ankle bracelets that defendants can pay for themselves if they're able. He says police, prosecutors, probation and parole officers are all working to reduce the crime rate, which he says is his number one priority.
