(wvia) - "Our Town Montoursville" the 17th edition of WVIA's "Our Town" documentary series premieres Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 8 p.m. on WVIA TV.

The multi-lingual diplomacy of Andrew Montour eased tensions of colonial expansion in the region back in the mid 1700's. To this day, remnants of Native American nations are being unearthed in what is now the borough of Montoursville in Lycoming County. Venture into Indian Park for a great mix of natural beauty and recreation.

Ease into the vibrant downtown business community accented in dwellings with character and tradition. Take time to pause, reflect, remember and rejuvenate You're in Montoursville--linking centuries past to a future of unlimited possibilities.

"Our Town Montoursville" is produced in partnership with The Williamsport Sun Gazette.

As northeastern Pennsylvania's and the Central Susquehanna Valley's member supported public television station serving a very large geographic area, the "Our Town" project was initiated in an effort to involve the communities and their residents with WVIA Public Media. The "Our Town" documentary series is intended to treat viewers to the many personalities, perspectives, and possibilities that local towns have to offer.

Encore presentations of "Our Town: Montoursville" will be broadcast on Wednesday, June 18 at 10 p.m. immediately following its premiere, Saturday, June 21 at 9 p.m. and Sunday, June 22 at 12 p.m. on WVIA TV.
