Our Town Montoursville Documentary Preproduction/Whiteboard Meeting- All Montoursville Residents Invited
(2014-03-31)
(wvia) - WVIA invites Montoursville residents to the "Our Town Montoursville" documentary film preproduction/whiteboard meeting on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 7 p.m. at the Montoursville Borough Building located at 2 Filbert Street in Montoursville.

At the pre-production/whiteboard meeting, residents from Montoursville will discuss which landmarks, events and local stories the program should explore. WVIA will answer questions about the project during the meeting and ask volunteer videographers and/or storytellers to narrow the list of subjects and events to videotape. WVIA hopes to recruit 20 to 25 area residents with personal camcorders.

Resident videographers will then set off to videotape their pre-determined stories. They will have until Saturday, April 26, 2014 when their memory cards or videotapes filled with stories of Montoursville are due to WVIA. The footage will then be used to make the "Our Town Montoursville" documentary.

Anyone interested in being a videographer and/or storyteller for the documentary should contact WVIA Our Town producer, Lisa Mazzarella, at 570-602-1164 or by e-mailing lisamazzarella@wvia.org.

"Our Town Montoursville" is a one-hour video scrapbook focusing on the people, places and happenings of Montoursville, PA., as seen through the eyes of its residents. "Our Town Montoursville" will premiere on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 8 p.m. on WVIA TV.

As northeastern Pennsylvania's and the Central Susquehanna Valley's public television station serving a very large geographic area, the "Our Town" project was initiated in an effort to involve the communities and their residents with WVIA. The "Our Town" documentary series is intended to treat viewers to the many personalities, perspectives, and possibilities that local towns have to offer.
