WVIA Receives a Community Conservation Partnerships Program Grant Award from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources
(2014-01-03)
(wvia) - Thanks to a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), WVIA Public Media will produce a 3rd season of its environmental focus television program, "Greenlife Pennsylvania."

"Greenlife Pennsylvania" takes viewers to the conservation front - places where the problems and the technology can be seen and heard with thought-provoking reality and where individuals and organizations are fighting back with cutting-edge tactics and a can-do spirit. The series inspires viewers through personal actions paired with compelling journeys to the diverse communities and landscapes of Pennsylvania. The viewer gains an appreciation to conservation and feels the call to "take it personally." Each episode includes tips and actions individuals can take, plus sources for more information.

"We are extremely excited and proud that WVIA was chosen to receive this grant from DCNR," said WVIA Public Media President, CEO and Executive Producer Tom Curra. "It allows us to produce another season of Greenlife Pennsylvania' and be able to distribute it to all of the public television stations throughout Pennsylvania,"

DCNR is the primary source of state support for Pennsylvania recreation, parks, and conservation initiatives. Grant funding from DCNR assists hundreds of communities and organizations across Pennsylvania to plan, acquire, and develop recreation and park facilities, create trails, and conserve open space.
