(wvia) - WVIA FM invites the public to its next Simply Grand Concert, which will feature Violinist Timothy Schwarz, on Sunday, Feb 24 at 3 p.m. in the Sordoni High Definition Theater at WVIA Studios in Pittston, PA. Concertizing regularly in recitals and concertos throughout the US & Europe, violinist Timothy Schwarz has been praised for his "energetic performances" (Rome News), "technique beyond reproach" (Buffalo Times) and creative programming. He has performed recitals and chamber music throughout North and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. His recording career spans 15 years with solo and chamber music albums.

Schwarz is currently the Head of the String Department at Leigh University. He founded the highly competitive string camp Techne Music which is based in Pennsylvania's Leigh Valley and is a founding member of the clarinet trio Tripod.

The WVIA "Simply Grand" concert series showcases the talent of regional classical musicians. Since the series began in 1990, dozens of regional musicians have been featured. The concerts are recorded for broadcast before a live audience in the Sordoni High Definition Theater at the WVIA Studios.
