Our Town Milton Documentary Preproduction/Whiteboard Meeting- All Milton Residents Invited

WVIA invites Milton residents to the “Our Town Milton” documentary film preproduction/whiteboard meeting on Thursday, Jan 24, 2013 at 6 p.m. at the Milton Borough Building located at 2 Filbert Street in Milton.
(wvia) - WVIA invites Milton residents to the "Our Town Milton" documentary film preproduction/whiteboard meeting on Thursday, Jan 24 at 6 p.m. at the Milton Borough Building located at 2 Filbert Street in Milton.

At the pre-production/whiteboard meeting, residents from Milton will discuss which landmarks, events and local stories the program should explore. WVIA will answer questions about the project during the meeting and ask volunteer videographers and/or storytellers to narrow the list of subjects and events to videotape. WVIA hopes to recruit 20 to 25 area residents with personal camcorders.

Resident videographers will then set off to videotape their pre-determined stories. They will have until Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 when their memory cards or videotapes filled with stories of Milton are due to WVIA. The footage will then be used to make the "Our Town Milton" documentary.

"Our Town Milton" will be WVIA's twelfth edition of its "Our Town" documentary series. The one-hour video scrapbook will focus on the people, places and happenings of Milton, PA., as seen through the eyes of its residents."Our Town Milton" will premiere on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 7 p.m. on WVIA TV.

As northeastern Pennsylvania's and the Central Susquehanna Valley's public television station serving a very large geographic area, the "Our Town" project was initiated in an effort to involve the communities and their residents with WVIA. The "Our Town" documentary series is intended to treat viewers to the many personalities, perspectives, and possibilities that local towns have to offer.
