WVIA recognizes PPL Corporation for its continued corporate citizenship
(2012-11-28)
Ron Prislupski, WVIA Director of Corporate Development receives PPL’s $4,000 donation to WVIA through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program, from Richard Beasley, PPL Regional Director.
(wvia) - WVIA Public Media is pleased to announce that PPL Corporation has donated $4,000 to support WVIA's Educational Services through a Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit, continuing PPL's ongoing support for the program and others that benefit communities where the company does business.

WVIA provides educational television programming to its member schools, by delivering a vast inventory of high quality curriculum-based programming. WVIA is addressing standards and learning objectives directly to our member schools through professional development, academic centered competition, and other educational resources. WVIA is uniquely positioned to provide multimedia services, and has been a leader in the use of new technology as it has evolved from film, through videotape, two-way distance learning over ISDN, to web-streaming and podcasting.

"PPL continues to be a tremendous asset to our community," said Ron Prislupski, Director of Corporate Development. "We appreciate that this growing and dynamic company is dedicating resources to support youth education. Thank you, PPL, for helping to make it great to live and work in northeastern and central Pennsylvania."

WVIA Public Media is a scholarship organization under the state Department of Community and Economic Development's Education Improvement Tax Credit program. The program gives companies an opportunity to support quality agencies working to educate children.

"PPL is privileged to be a part of such a great community," said Rich Beasley, regional community relations director. "We are proud to continue to help a community where our employees work and live. We take our relationship with the community and our responsibilities as a major employer, very seriously."
