(2010-07-19)
(wvia) - This Friday at 8 p.m. watch Warner Bros. classic The Treasure of the Sierra Madre on WVIA Friday Night at the Movies presented by Lenahan and Dempsey on WVIA TV.

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre was one of the first Hollywood films to be filmed almost entirely on location outside the United States. This 1948 action/adventure written and directed by John Huston is a masterful study of greed. Humphrey Bogart and Tim Holt star as American vagrants in Mexico who team up with grizzled prospector, Walter Huston in a search for gold. Men drawn together on their quest for riches fight shoulder to shoulder against the forces of nature only to find their greatest enemy is - human nature.

Winner of three Academy awards the film earned Oscars for Best Director and Best Screenplay for John Huston and Best Supporting Actor for his father, Walter Huston.
