Local businesses invited to join WVIA's Great TV Auction
The 2010 Great TV Auction offers excellent online and television exposure to local businesses that contribute gift certificates or items. Donations for many participating businesses are tax deductible and there is no cash outlay.
This unique event kicks off on May 1 with online bidding on WVIA's website, wvia.org. The auction will feature more than 3,000 items in 30 categories, such as Art and Hobbies, Golf, Home and Garden, Music and Media, Tickets and Entertainment and Health, Wellness and Beauty, to name a few. The excitement of online bidding continues through May 22.
In addition to excellent online promotion, many participating businesses will also be featured on WVIA TV from 7 to 8 p.m., May 16 through 22. Reaching more than a million viewers in 22 counties across Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania, the Great TV Auction is an ideal way to showcase local businesses that support public media.
Proceeds from the 2010 Great TV Auction benefit WVIA Public Media, Northeastern Pennsylvania's public broadcasting stations. Through the generosity of community-minded business leaders, WVIA is able to continue offering quality educational and cultural programming on its television and radio stations.
