Montgomery Police Open New Substation
(2009-07-02)
(wvas) - Montgomery Police are stepping up their efforts to take a bite out of crime.

The department is putting a new substation in place at 2190 E.South Boulevard near Baptist Medical Center and Alfa Insurance.

Commander of the Community Policing Division, Lt. W.E. Herman, says 20 to 30 officers will operate out of the building which was donated to the city for use by Baptist Hospital.

It will cost the city about 15,000.00 annually to operate the facility.

Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange says two to three additional substations will pop up around the city.
