MPS Board approves scaled-back budget MILWAUKEE, WI (wuwm) - An overflow crowd of hundreds turned out last night for a public hearing on the 2008 budget for Milwaukee's Public Schools. That was prior to the board taking a final vote. Just past 2:00A.M., board members 5 to 3 in favor of a budget that includes a 9% tax levy increase.
