Midwest shareholders vote to sell airline to TPG
(2007-10-30)
MILWAUKEE, WI
(wuwm) -
After AirTran made several attempts to take over Milwaukee-based Midwest Air, shareholders today voted nearly unanimously today to sell to TPG Capital of Texas for $17 per share. Brian Nelson says that's a fabulous deal for the shareholders. He's an airline analyst with the investment research company, Morningstar, of Chicago. Nelson told WUWM's Marge Pitrof that the remaining question is whether the U.S. Justice Dept.will approve the transaction because another airline, Northwest, is a passive investor in the deal.
