The 109-day stalemate continues at the state capitol over a new state budget. One-billion dollars separates the partisan sides. Many Democrats want to increase taxes in order to provide more services, while most Republicans have pledged to hold the line on taxes, saying they're already too high here. Research Director for the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance, Dale Knapp, told WUWM's Marge Pitrof that 2005 U.S. Census figures rank Wisconsin the 8th highest taxing state.© Copyright 2009, wuwm
