Lawmakers hold special session on budget MILWAUKEE, WI (wuwm) - Governor Doyle has taken a drastic step to break the budget gridlock between senate democrats and assembly republicans. They were supposed to have approved a new budget by July 1st. Now, in an unprecedented move, the Governor has called the legislature into special session today.
