Canal Street extension MILWAUKEE, WI (wuwm) - The long awaited extension of Canal Street in Milwaukee is complete. Canal Street cuts through the heart of Milwaukee's Menomonee Valley, which is the city's former industrial hub. Engineers hope the extension takes some traffic off of I-94, during the Marquette Interchange reconstruction. Others, including Laura Bray, hope the street will help lure business to the valley.
