River corridor preservation MILWAUKEE, WI (wuwm) - The banks of the Milwaukee River have become a popular site for new condos, restaurants and other developments in Milwaukee. But the riverbanks remain largely wild in an 800 acre stretch from Silver Spring Drive to North Avenue. Environmentalists want to preserve the lush vegetation and wildlife habitat.
