Is it true that there is no democracy in socialist Cuba? How does the current U.S. electoral democracy compare to democracies in progressive democratic revolutions in Latin America, such as Venezuela? Canadian social scientist Arnold August has just released his second book length study on how democratic processes work in Cuba, with comparisons to the U.S. and South American countries such as Venezuela, and he will discuss his findings on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at 7:30pm in UWM's Bolton Hall 150, just north of the UWM Union at 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd., Milwaukee. The talk is free and open to the public.
