Jim Davis Victory Speech TAMPA (WUSF) - It was almost midnight before Tampa Congressman Jim Davis - the newly elected Democratic candidate for governor - emerged victorious.

Then in a speech lasting about ten minutes, Davis thanked his opponent - State Senator Rod Smith - and reminded hundreds of supporters that there are only nine weeks to the general election.
