Students Glide Electric
(WUSF) - The computer lab room at Tampa Bay Technical High School has been turned into a workshop for a group of students who are fashioning an electric car - by hand. For the past two weeks, they've been cutting sheet metal, tweaking a motor and fitting it with racing wheels made for bicycles.

They'll enter their creation in the "Electrathon," being held Saturday during the Engineering Expo at USF's Tampa campus. The winner of the Electrathon will be the car that travels the most laps in one hour. The idea is not only to race the fastest, but race the longest.
