Fugitives Nabbed TAMPA (WUSF) - It was a first-of-it's-kind in Florida. The U.S. Marshals Service teamed up with state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the state. Their haul during the last three months: 2,500 fugitives arrested and nearly 3,000 warrants were cleared.

In the Tampa Bay area, the operation netted 179 fugitives.
