Iconic Jazz Photographer
LAKELAND
(WUSF) -
Herman Leonard is known for his photographs of Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie and other jazz greats. But he didn't become known for those black and white pictures until about 40 years after he took them. WUSF's Bob Seymour found out some of the details of Leonard's extraordinary life. Leonard's work is featured in the Karsh, Leonard and Bagert exhibition on at the Polk Museum of Art through this Sunday.
