Sarasota Readies for Fay
(2008-08-18)
Fay's projected path through Florida
(WUSF) - Memories of Hurricane Charley - and how it fast developed into a major hurricane - were on the minds of Sarasota officials today as they prepared for Fay. Ed McCrane, Sarasota County's emergency management chief, said even though the storm looks unorganized, that could change quickly overnight.

All Sarasota County government offices, city offices, courts and schools will be closed tomorrow. A mandatory evacuation ahs been ordered for all residents living in mobile homes. People living in low-lying areas and barrier islands are urged to evacuate voluntarily. That could become mandatory, as the storm's path becomes more apparent.
