Fay May Darken Hardee City
(2008-08-18)
(WUSF) - Downed power lines and blown electric transformers are a familiar side effect of a hurricane's high winds.

Officials in the Hardee County seat of Wauchula say they'll cut off the town's power before that can happen.

Mayor David Royal says when winds reach 45 or 50 miles per hour, the Wauchula Electric Co. will cut electricity to its 4,400 residents.
