McKeen talks Hunter S. Thompson TAMPA (WUSF) - Writer Hunter S. Thompson was an icon for many reasons. The University of Florida's College of Journalism Chair, William McKeen knew Thompson and says he wanted to write about the real man. He says his goal in writing "Outlaw Journalist" was to write a comprehensive and comprehensible account of Thompson's epic life.
