Stop-Gap for Brain Drain

The board that oversees Florida's state universities is asking the legislature for an additional $65.4 million to stem the "brain drain" of professors and staff leaving for other states.
Florida's Board of Governors wants to keep valuable professors at state universities. That's why, during its budget meeting, they decided to asked lawmakers for $65 million more.
Chancellor Mark Rosenberg hopes to give faculty a four percent raise with the money. He's also wants another $30 million to pay for increased energy costs.
