Jail Abuse Inquiry Continues

Problems at the jail became a nationwide issue when a surveillance video was widely aired of a quadriplegic man being dumped from his wheelchair. The deputy who was involved resigned, but an investigation into continued abuses by detention deputies continues.
One speaker at today's meeting said he had copies of seven other videos showing deputies abusing inmates. Members of the Independent Review Commission on Jails say they are reviewing those cases.
The group, which was convened by Hillsborough Sheriff David Gee, is expected to sumbit their final report next month. © Copyright 2009, WUSF
