My Last Tour: J-Bad Rescue
(2009-07-02)
Georgian National Guard soldiers get medical assistance to accident victims in Jalalabad Pass, Afghanistan
(WUSF) - A car with two children and an elderly man goes off a cliff in Afghanistan. The accident, at what is fondly called J-Bad Pass, turned a U.S. military resupply mission into an impromptu medical evacuation documented by Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Rex Temple.

Temple tells us the story of the Georgia National Guard soldiers who decided to stop and offer help while on a convoy through Jalalabad Pass. He also took photos of the rescue as the soldiers and local Afghanis worked together to bring the injured up a 50-foot embankment.

You can view photos of the medical rescue and read more about it and other missions on Temple's blog: Afghanistan: My Last Tour. WUSF is following Temple, a Tampa airman stationed at MacDill Air Force Base, during his year-long deployment to Afghanistan.
