My Last Tour: Going to School
(2009-06-25)
Afghani students peer out through a broken window at school
(WUSF) - There's a school in Afghanistan that is running triple sessions because there is such demand for learning and a shortage of teachers. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Rex Temple takes us along on a humanitarian mission that delivered school supplies, soccer balls and candy for the kids.

He says the Islamic transitional government and the coalition joint civil military task force built the school in 2003. Temple talks with WUSF reporter Bobbie O'Brien just after returning from the mission.

WUSF is following Temple during his year-long deployment to Afghanistan. You can see photos the Afghani school and read the details of the mission on Temple's blog: Afghanistan: My Last Tour.
