My Last Tour: A Memorial & Shura TAMPA (WUSF) - Air Force SMSgt. Rex Temple reflects in a recent blog post on a memorial service for four fallen soldiers in Afghanistan, Maj. Rocco M. Barnes, Maj. Kevin M. Jenrette, SSgt. John C. Beale and Spec. Jeffrey W. Jordan.

The senior master sergeant also shares his experience of attending a "shura," an Afghani village meeting, and what it was like to see his dogs, Sam and Charlie, for the first time in a month via Skype, an internet, video communications link.

Temple talked Wednesday via Skype with WUSF reporter Bobbie O'Brien who was joined in the studios by Temple's wife, Liisa Hyvarinen Temple.
